Hi, thankyou in advance. Got 3 pullets last week, 13 week old cream legbars. They seem very friendly after only being with us for a week and taking treats from my hand and 2 are allowing to be picked up and stroked (if rewarded with a worm)

Occasionally they charge at each other, head high, chest out and neck feathers puffed- I assume this is them establishing a pecking order? After this they just carry on as usual and there is no aggression. Today however I notice several feathers in coop, run and where they free range (FR supervised) maybe small handful
Is this normal self grooming behavior and will I find this often?
I've not observed any bullying. No one has any bald patches. And not injuries or areas of bleeding.
The coop is brand new and treated for red mite. Each girl has also been checked over from head to toe.
Am I just being a nervous new mum?

Welcome To BYC!

At 13 weeks I would expect to find some feathers due to juvenile molt.
If you aren't noticing bald patches I think you are fine:)

The charging, challenging, chest bumping, etc. all sounds normal to me too.
