PEcking order or anger issues?

I just integrated a broody and her four 2wo chicks in with the flock by taking down the wire wall that separated them during setting/hatching. The mama gets in more fights than the chicks, but the chicks have places to 'hide'. Things calm down after a day or so. I also integrate my incubator hatched chicks young, out to the coop by 1wk, then integration begins at 4wks.

OK, I figured it wasn't 47 chicks!
You said out to the coop at a week? Is it warm where u live? It’s cold here and I am usually more than ready to put them out in the smaller coop by 4 weeks

They go out with a heater ;)
Did you look at the article I linked?
Maybe you're on a phone and can't see links or my location?

When I added my younger hens With My Older Rd., Island reds they were very aggressive towards the younger ones. I put a small house in for the younger ones and put a wire wall dividing the run between the two. That way they couldn’t hurt them but they could at least get used to seeing each other and by the time The younger one started laying I was able to let them out together. Supervised it first But it was a much better situation. The Reds are still feisty but they’re not hurting leghorns anymore
