A little background first: I have an established flock of 8, and just purchased 4 more pullets who are still in quarantine.
For the first couple of days the new 4 (2 Wyandottes, a Brahma, and a Silver Spangled Hamburg) were getting along very well. On Tuesday, I thought one of my Wyandottes might be ill because she was laying as flat as possible on the ground. By the time I got home from work, however, she seemed fine. This morning when I went out to check on them, the other Wyandotte was on top of her pecking violently. Which one should I separate? The bully or the one being bullied (because she's possibly ill)? Or should I just wait and see if the violence stops? The bullied chicken has been staying separate from the others for several days and is almost always laying down when I see her, which makes me think she may be sick.
I hope this makes sense! Thank you for any advice you can give me!
