Pecking order or...?

Two of my hens, a barred rock and RIR, have been getting more and more black spots on their combs/wattles by the day. At first I figured it was just pecking wounds becuade they’re the top two hens and I figured one was trying to assert dominance over the other, but the spots are growing more and more each day so I’m inclined to thing fowl pox? And opinions?

They look like pecking wounds to me. As daylight increases hormones surge so you will see more fighting in spring.
