Pecking Order

I had a pair of Partridge Plymouth Rock four month old chickens. The female was killed by something and the male is really lonesome. If I locate another female of about the same age, will he probably kill her?

Any suggestions will help.

It would be exceptionally rare for a roo to kill a hen - after all, he should want to win her so that he can mate her. He'll most likely try to dominate her, as he young and hormonal. I would want more than one hen, and a single pullet/hen will most likely be overly harrassed since he is at such a hormonal age. If you can't get more than one, then I'd just leave him a bachelor myself.
