Pecking to death

I just put my first 15 ga giant bobwhites in my pens. They are 8 weeks old and this is my first time with any birds, I have read alot and I feel my pens feeding and watering is good and safe. My biggest concern is that one of the little guys lost a toe in the transferring of pens to cage and then to my pen. There is just a little bit of blood on the tip of where the toe is gone. Will the others peck him to death?

probably not. they have a clotisol gel you can put on it to stop the bleeding and possibly keep the others off the scent i would just put lots of hiding spots in the cage for the little guy and it should do fine.
