PECKING

MY CHICKENS ARE PECKING THEMSELVES, SOME OF THE AREA'S ARE DEEP/ THROUGH THE SKIN DOWN INTO THE MEAT. I HAVE 3 RED LINK AND 2 AMBER LINKS. I GET 4 EGGS EVERYDAY. 1 OF THEM HAS NOT STARTED LAYING YET. THEY ARE 9 MONTHS OLD . DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA'S ?

Pecking themselves or pecking each other?

I had a chick with a deep wound from the other chicks pecking her... cleaned it out and applied antibiotic ointment (the one that has a mild anesthetic in it) and it ceased immediately.
