We are getting our first baby chicks. My son will likely get upset if he is pecked. He has special needs. What should I know about chickens pecking people?

If they are a few days old, there probably won't be any pecking. They're pretty calm as long as you are holding them securely. Just be sure to handle them daily. I have only one older hen that pecks at me, and I did not hand raiser her.
