I apologize if this is in the wrong section, it has to do with behavior, but also could be misidentified gender.
I have a white crested polish chicken, Nova, that we're fairly sure is female (curved, fluffy hairdo, no crest). Both genders are suppose to have wattles and hers are coming in, but I was told that was normal. She's starting to cluck. But Nova will make these sounds like the beginning part of a high pitch crow. I can never get it on camera because she seems to only do it when she realizes someone is home in the house and wants to be let out of the coop. She never does it outside the coop.
I'm in city limits so if she is a he or continues to make this noise, I'll have to get rid of Nova. Is there a way to dissuade this type of behavior if Nova is a female?
Here's pictures from 9 weeks. All of the chicken's seem to be growing a bit faster this year by a few weeks.
