Peeling feet

My 7 month old black Cochins feet are peeling and smell really bad what is going on

It hurts him when I put him down so I didn’t want to put him through that pain again

Sounds like his feet might be going necrotic. Spray with something like blu-kote. I'm so sorry this is happening, let me tag some more knowledgeable members: @Wyorp Rock @Eggcessive

Someone recently posted about their chicken with the same symptoms and they had photos and it was determined that the feet were frost bitten and dying. I can try and find the thread for you.

It’s dark where I am right now so I can get pictures tomorrow but the feet have the same smell but the pads are red and the toes look normal

I’m so glad that it likely isn’t frostbite. If you look at the bottom of this thread it gives reference to other similar threads, and the pictures in those threads may be able to help. I saw some that mentioned scaly leg mites. Sorry I don’t have more experience with this to help you, but I hope you can figure it out soon!

Ok I got the photo but the smell was gone but the feet look worse than yesterday
