When do chicks go from peep peed to bok bok or cluck cluck? My chicks are 8 weeks old. Karen

I'm thinking around 12 weeks old usually.

I think I remember hearing the first "big girl" noises around 12-13 weeks but they didn't fully have their new voices until about 16 weeks.

I miss the little squeaks and peeps!!

Ours are 10-12 weeks old and just now doing the peep-peep-peep-CLUCK thing. It is the funniest thing you have ever heard. We roll on the floor laughing when we hear it. Some are so funny sounding they sound like geese and ducks with their honks and quacks. Way cheap (cheep) entertainment

I can't wait ; I think mine will seem more like chickens to me and less like other birds when they get the clucking going.
