So I turned my Coturnix eggs this morning and some of them peeped! Temp has been stable around 99.5-100 F the whole time, calibrated to a Brinsea analog thermometer. It's day 12 and lockdown isn't too far away, but I'm new to quail and I worry. How early did your chicks start peeping in their shells?

Peeping means they have pipped internally and are coordinating the hatch so that the majority hatch at the same time. If the eggs were kept a little too warm when they were stored it may have jumped started incubation or you may have a few hot spots in your incubator. They can hatch from 16-21 days so make sure your brooder is ready. They are probably still a couple of days off hatching but they can surprise you.
