Today is day 20. The eggs started peeping around noon. They still have not pipped yet though! Im so excited and nervous!! can anyone tell me why they havent pipped yet if theyre peeping?

When they break through the air cell sac, the can and do peep. Hatching is hard work. They may be resting/sleeping. Just give them a little while longer and Im sure they will start pipping and zipping. Good luck on your hatch.

Peeping from what I understand starts around the time they do an internal pip. Then they will do an external pip that you will be able to see (a little crack in the egg), Then it can be more than 24 hours before they start to zip.

Go here and scroll down to the hatching section. There is lots of help there!!

You could open the incubator (which will allow some humidity to escape) or you can let it go and see if it hatches. I usually leave mine be, but if I have to open the incubator to remove chicks when things start getting crowded, I flip them over real quick while I'm messing around in there. If your humidity is looking good, you should be alright to open it up real quick.
