Peeps vs. Clucks

When do pullets go from baby peeps to grown-up clucks? Thanks!!

I am very new to chicken knowledge but from what I have read it goes like this:

Chick
Pullet ( female under 1 year)
Hen

Yep, that's it......they change from peeping noises to clucking noises around 3 months or if your like me....lots of crowing noises. In my first round I raised 5 out of 7 roosters and couldn't keep them. Have fun with your chickies. Bock! Bock!

Thanks! I brought home a cutiepie today - origins unknown - age unknown.

SHe's a doll and definitely bawks instead of peeping. Hmmm...think I'll put a nest box in there...just in case......

I though once they are layers they are hens....cause I have a girl hatching a batch of eggs right this minute who is only 7 months and a few days old. I think if she is a mama she certainly should have earned "hen"....

It differs on the breed and its strain, but usually, around 4-6 months is when they begin clucking.
