My BR pullet started to lay 5 days ago. Three eggs so far but they all are between 38 and 40 grams. I have had a small egg ever so often but never repeatedly from the same pullet. Is this cause for alarm or just the difference from bird to bird? Are these eggs ok to eat?

I wouldn't be too alarmed. New layers often lay smaller eggs at first. In a couple of weeks, they should become larger. Small eggs are fine to eat- some people even eat bantam eggs!

Thank you! That is what I was thinking but I'm still new to the world of chickens and wanted to be sure. Thanks again.
