Pekín hatch day today

Hello!!

Today is hatching day for our Pekin ducklings. We came down this morning at around 8:30 and one was already completely hatched and almost dry and fluffy. The other eggs have not started to pip yet. One has, but there has been no movement for hours and it’s bill is an ashy grey color and is poked out of the hole. and we are worried it has died .

My question is- is it normal that none of the other eggs have pipped? And should I continue to leave the lone hatched duckling in there even though she’s been dry for a while?

Well I have never hatched ducklings but I think I'd go ahead and get her out.

What happened in the end? Sorry you didnt get many replies....
Duck's a very slow hatchers, in this situation, you could try tapping the incubator gently, and talking to him, seeing if you get any response, any movement. They do rest a lot but you should still see movement of some kind most of the time....

just to answer,
They can stay in the incubator for quite a while, just keep a close eye on them to make sure they aren't panting/showing signs of overheating. Personally I dislike them knocking the other eggs around so much, once they're dry I would take them out very quickly. But this DOES risk losing the important humidity for the other pipped ducklings.
