Hey!
About 1.5 months ago we got a couple of pekin bantams to add to our flock, and one of the girls is very wobbly and we're trying to narrow down what is wrong, mainly if it's neurological/something she will live with, or something that we can treat!

Video attached of her movement, she's able to eat and drink just fine, but will roll like this a lot, she uses her wings to stabilise herself, and will stumble trying to itch her head and with general movement

If anyone has any ideas on what could be wrong, and if it's something we can treat at home let us know! We're in the UK so finding any medications or vets has been a headache

Additional info:
  • Pekin Bantam, POL, normal weight
  • Fully vaccinated
  • No other birds exhibiting symptoms
  • No sign of injury
  • Purchased near POL, no info from seller/warnings
  • Normal poop
  • We have tried VetRX, Vitamins, Flubenvet, Planning to try Coxoid treatment
  • Hen house with walk in run, straw/wood shavings bedding
Thanks in advance!

How old is she now? Is she moving her right leg very well? It is definitely something neurological. Does she do this all of the time? Do the other chickens try to attack her? I am leaning toward this being Mareks disease, or something affecting her brain. You could try some human vitamin E 400 IU daily and 1/4 tablet of human vitamin B complex that contains thiamine, riboflavin and the other B vitamins. Give those daily in a small amount of food daily.

8 months, moves both legs fine and walks fine most of the time but when stationary or bumped she loses balance every time, the other chickens don't bully her but she hasn't integrated into the flock like the other pekin we introduced at the same time has, definitely bottom of the pecking order

Here's a couple more videos of her moving about for you!
