Hi, I have a Pekin drake and Swedish duck-hen and 6 chickens (one good roo). Today my husband saw the drake squishing poor little Amelia the EE hen.
She is also one of the roo's favorites and I had to put a saddle on her because her back was all bare.
Also, the last couple of days one of the chicken eggs has had blood on it, I think it was Amelia's because of the olive-color.
So I'm concerned about Amelia's health. Any suggestions ... would it help to have more female ducks?
The ducks and chickens have their own living quarters, but all free-range together all day, (often accompanied by our 100lb rottweiler!!)
The two ducks are very closely bonded to each other, so I don't think I could get rid of the drake without seriously upsetting the duck-hen.
thanks for your help!
