Hi All,
I just just checked on our 1-year old (and only) Pekin, Bonnie, and this is day 3 with no egg in the nextbox. She always uses the chickens' nestbox EVERY DAY. 2 days ago I noticed no egg. Yesterday, no egg and in the afternoon she was doing a (not gasping) but a fish impression with her mouth and her body looked like she was taking deeper breaths... But not in pain and still walking around our yard with the chickens, maybe a little slower. Not quacking much though. I figured she found another place to lay eggs and maybe a dandelion leaf went down the wrong pipe that she was working down. She is bright eyed and very perky. But, this is day 3. I think something is up. Exact same symptoms as yesterday. I lifted her about 5 minutes ago to see if an egg was stuck... I saw nothing. Her bottom looks normal. (I read the thread last night on the Pekin with a stuck egg a couple years ago and it scared the beejees out of me). Any thoughts on what this is? Stuck egg or something else? What can I try? Please be specific. This is the first duck issue I've dealt with so I'm fairly new at this. Thanks for any suggestions!!
