Just registered with ya'll. Was reading a thread (although can't figure how to post there, however:-( We have 4 gals, that have been laying for a while, all white eggs. (Will be one year old in April). A few days ago, one of them started laying green eggs! We have a Rouen, Buff, and 2 Pekins. I saw there someone else is getting green eggs from their girl, after having white ones laid for a while. It's nice, but kinda odd. Apparently not!

Welcome!

I think the color of the egg differs slightly because of the bloom. The bloom is the protective layer that stays on the outside of the egg until washed. Sometimes it makes the egg appear darker, and sometimes it gives a green-gray tint to it. Do you think you could post a picture before and after washing one of your ‘green’ eggs?
