Hey y'all! We think our big girl may have cut her foot, she left a blood spot in the snow a couple of days ago but we checked her feet today and don't see an open wound. She hasn't laid an egg in a couple days and she seems off today. She sulked around and didn't spend much time in the pond. Her foot is warm to the touch and does look a little swollen. She's about a year old and we'd love to help her feel better! Please advise!

Pekins are prone to leg problems due there heavyweight, Since it's inflamed, I would soak her leg in warm Epsom salt water for about 15-20 min every few days until the swelling goes down, Make sure she doesn't drink the water or it can act as a laxative if drank, For mine, I will also give them about 1/2 of a low dose baby aspirin, you can either mix it with some fluids and administer it via eyedropper or syringe or crush it over his favorite treat. I'd limit his activities so he doesn't further damage the leg, Providing some vitamins especially B3 may help as well and as a preventative measure, avoid placing large objects in their coop/yard that they might trip on, providing soft bedding would be good as well. If the cut is on the bottom of the foot, I'd watch out for Bumblefoot infection.
