We bought 3 ducklings in the spring and I have luck with buying baby poultry. I tend to get more males than females. It’s bad luck that I have. I rehomed the male Rouen to someone who has a female. I also rehomed at the same time 3 roosters, 1 who was the dominate in the yard because he was a jerk. Now here’s my issue, the Pekin drake is chasing everybody all over the place. He is establishing his dominance. Can I get rid of him and keep the female and only have one duck with my chickens? Or should I rehome them as a pair?

She will probably be unhappy without a duck partner, but may adjust. The problem with the drake chasing the chicken hens is that if he starts catching and breeding them serious physical problems even death may occur.

That is my concern. I just wasn’t sure if she’d be okay as a single duck. Thanks!!
