Also, are they ok to swim now? Like could I take one outside and put it in the lake and watch it carefully? Or do their feathers need t be fully grown for that?

Ducklings of any age can swim. You might not want to put it in a uncontrolled place such as a lake though.

Just cleaned them up, along with their stuff, and took them outside for a bit. All three of them fell into the lake but I got them out without them freaking out. The weird bump on Ned is gone, so I bet it was just undirected food. Thanks for all of the help everybody! I’ll check back in every once in a while.

Guys, I have some unfortunate news. Dusty and Ned are both dead. I found Dusty with his chest ripped open and his insides eaten outside a few days ago. The next day, on Friday the 13, I let Ned and Lucky out of the coop. I look outside about an hour and 30 minutes later, and I see Ned on his side. I run outside and he’s as stiff as a board. Does anyone know how he could have died? My guess is poison. Im giving Lucky to a friend that already has ducks so he won’t be alone.

That was back in June, and now my neighbors are giving us their ducks because they dont want them any more. Anyone have any ideas on how I can get them to trust me?

I'm really sorry to hear your story- A loss of a beloved no matter what it is will always be hard. To have your new ducks trust you try to constantly feed them, have them associate you with safety/food so you'll have some happy ducks in no time!
