Pekin ducklings from TSC

I find it all so fascinating, how different things are here.. our TSC are accepting orders for poultry but none arrive till April and even then, they are not much into bringing in, most is sold on pre-order and that is how the majority of the feed mills work with it too, everything done in advance.

There was a question posed last week by someone from Germany asking about what happens to the ducklings that don't get sold out of TSC and other feed stores, maybe we don't want to know.

They can't keep ducklings in stock here either. One of the TSCs by me doesn't even get in ducklings. From what I've seen here, the bantam chicks go fast, the cornish cross go slowly.
I had a chicken just hatch out 5 babies so I got her 5 fosters at TSC. Things are going well so far.

. Does anyone know why the one ducks neck is like that? It's like that after it eats a lot

Hi pagumby,
congrats on your ducklings. We have a few varieties of ducks and my best guess would be Pekin ducks. I just bought batam chicks there today and they said their ducks were Pekin which look just like you described. When they grow up you will defiantly be able to tell. lol Have fun with them!

Wonderful! glad your babies are doing well and accepted fosters are too. What breed? i've never bred chickens, is it basically the same.. well without all the water of coarse lol
