Pekin Ducklings

So i bought 2 Pekin ducklings from TSC and now 1 duckling ive noticed only takes a few steps and lays down eats fine but laying down drinks great but laying down swims great but why does it check laying down the other zooms all over just fine please help ?

How old are your ducklings? Pekins seem to need extra niacin above what other ducks do, as they grow so fast - their bodies can't keep up. You can find lots of threads on BYC from people who recently have had the same issues with their Pekin ducklings. You should get liquid vitamin B complex ASAP and start them both on that before real problems develop. You can get it at tractor supply, your local feed store, or amazing. It says injectable on the bottle, but you can just give them a little bit each day over food or treats. I think the correct dose is something like 1/2 to 1 mil a day, but you can't overdose them on this. I highly recommend you getting right away before you have a bigger issue like splay leg or pigeon-toe.

It sounds like a B3 deficiency to me too, but a video of him walking would be helpful. How old are they?

Ill post video in the morning b4 i go to work ...thank you for responding ...i think they are around 5 to 6 weeks old ive had them 2 weeks 2day and they wete little tiny 2. Wks ago n have grown alot since .

Tried to upload a video and i cant get it to work but i got the b12 an started it early this morning see a lil improvement the duck has tried to stand a lil longer but not there yet hopefully better tomorrow .
