Unfortunately, both baby ducklings were in fact dead. I have 4 more that were in another incubator and are on day 24. I will set them on a hatching tray tomorrow evening for lockdown. Is this the appropriate timeframe for lockdown to begin? I do not want to harm the little fellows and want to get this right this time. I really wish my hen would just learn to sit on her eggs already. This process is nerve racking for me. Thank you again for all your help.

Welcome to BYC! Are they making any noise? Ducklings take longer to pip and zip then chicks do. It can take a duckling up to 48 hours to fully hatch.

Thank you. I do have good news! I still have 4 others in an incubator and I saw the first external pip this morning. I have them in lockdown with temp at 98 and humidity between 78 and 80°. I am crossing my fingers with hopes that they will be ok.

Just wanted to keep you updated! I successfully hatched 3 out of 4 babies this weekend. I love them so much! I am attaching the photo. Thank you again for all your help and compassion.
