it is kind of a pleasant surprise but still weird... my pekin duck egg have been piping from yesterday day 21 and now, day 22 they are haching... isnt pekin duck 28 days of incubation ? it seem they all have belly problem but other than that they seem very energetic... on the picture they are 4 but 3 more are clearly trying to get out

Hmm...as you said, Pekin duck eggs should take roughly 28 days to incubate. Could your incubator be running higher than 99.5 degrees (assuming circulated air - 101.5 for still air)? Do you use an independent thermometer to check temps?

And when you say "belly problem", are you referring to unhealed navels or something else?

Congrats on your ducklings!

yes 37,5 but no i dont double check the temp. i could be that since its a cheap incubator from ebay. belly problems come from material still atach to the novel some greenish yellowish goo

ah ok thanks it pretty much look like that but following the ducky by the belly, it has been almost a years since i have incubated egg, i guess i had just forgot about it and with the odd number of day incubated i was just a bit worried.
thanks a lot

Yeah, sometimes it will be attached by a stringy bit. I usually cut them off.

a little follow up
when they started haching 3 of them kind of made it by themselfs but the others egg pipped but nothing much was happening. i oppened the piped hole to make sure they had air and waited. the next day 1 was dead in the egg ... so i did what i tought was best and remove more eggshell from the other egg,as i remove more shell they started being very bloody and i stopped there, it was a mistake as they didnt get out by themself and rather started dry in the shell. at that point i decided to remove them completely from the egg even if there was blood. i pulled them out and let them rest beside the shell but just enuf for them to dry ouside the egg but i left everything else in the egg still atach. theyr belly were gross and open but they ended up way better that way. the smaller one was so dryed up in is egg goo that i had to rip the feather for his side to be able to free him.
