Pekin Ducks In The Wild, When Do They Moult ?

Hi, I'm "friends" with two pekin ducks here in the Lambertville Nj area - Bucks County Pa. Cher & Sonny. Do pekin ducks moult: what season - when in the year? Would being in the wild affect if and when they do? Cher is going through her 2nd period of egg laying this year. Of course, being a domestic / pekin duck, she just leaves them. Could the stress of this bring about moulting? They look fine, just exhausted. I'm just wondering.

Poor nutrition can cause molt, as well as the normal cycles. And my runners molt when they feel like it. The broodies molt after a brood, but everyone else just picks a time - sometimes in late fall or winter. Silly ducks.
