I have no idea how to sex these ducks.
We have five I don't know what to look for. I can't tell by the tail. I know your suppose to listen for a certain "quack" sound but they don't shut up. Its constant chatter.. So help.........

The boys are a little larger than the girls and i feel the heads look a little blockier. Can you get pics? Are you sure you have any boys?I understand not being able to tell one quack from another.

The females are very loud and quack; the males are much quieter and almost whistle. The cheeks are a giveaway too, males have chubby cheeks.

You can tell by the quack and tail feathers. My Pekin had a quiet quack and just a few days ago it's tail feathers had curled...he is 20 weeks old.

The quack is quiet on a male duck and loud on a female.

I hope this helps.

Its hard to get stand alone pictures. These ducks don't stop moving.

How old are they? I don't see any tail curl. When it is a drake their will be one or two feathers that look as though you curled it with a curling iron. It is very noticable. My Pekin curled at 20 weeks. We really thought him to be a her. O' well. He is still a sweety.

My Cayuga hen actually has a much quieter quack than my pekin males, but I had to wait until they were at least six months old before I saw the tail curl. How old are these?

Wow, whatever they are, they are gorgeous!

I go by quack also and can usually tell at about 3 weeks of age. Here is a good site for listening to quacks:

You might have to herd them into a spot and pick each up to get it to talk to you where you can tell it from the others. Females will start to lay at 18-20 weeks usually.
