I have Pekin Ducks hatching out of relatively small eggs, but 2 of the eggs are gigantic and white. Any thoughts on possible breeds or will the Pekin eggs vary in size?

Duck eggs vary in size pretty much no matter what the breed. Mine seem to lay the smaller eggs when they start laying, then now and again, I get huge one from an older duck, I guess. I have 5 females, Muscovy only, and this is the difference in egg sizes.

Thanks for the picture showing the different egg sizes! It will be really helpful to lots of lurkers and newbies like myself.

I know this is an old thread but I'm glad I found it! We have 3 chickens, two buff orphington ducks and two pekin ducks. The chickens are about 5 weeks older and have been laying for a while now. Our ducks finally started laying and nothing could have prepared me for the shock of the Godzilla sized pekin eggs! We have had ducks in the past so I'm used to big eggs but these border on obscene, haha. I'll include some pictures; the brown and chocolate eggs are our chickens while the white ones are duck eggs. They lay pretty regularly and the eggs occasionally vary in size. It seems like when they skip a day that they are brewing an extra large egg.
