I came home last night and my female pekin is standing on one foot and then when she walks she is hobbling. I am guessing she must of hurt it sometime yesterday. I picked her up to look at it but no apparent abrasions but her foot looked a little swollen. Do you know what the best thing to do about this. She did appear to be walking a bit better this morning when going out to the pond. I put her to bed early last night to give her some rest.

When my ducks start to limp, I put them in a small pen for a week or so, until they stop limping. If the foot looks okay, she may just have stepped on something that hurt. If you put them in a small pen, they can't walk around much and the leg seems to heal on its own. Keep watching the foot for much swelling and if it gets hot, it may be infected. If it gets worse, then you may need a vet. You can also let her swim if you have a place for her to do that. Best thing is just to keep her from moving around much.

Yes she seems content in the pond. I will keep an eye on her

Thanks
