I have a 1 year old female pekin that has been limping badly. I've been researching bumblefoot and I don't think that's it. She recently lost a toenail through some sort of injury and I assumed that caused the limp. Now, the whole side of that foot looks swolen and she is limping worse.
What kind of topical or oral meds are out there that would treat any kind of infection?
What have any of you had for luck with this?

I'll try to post a picture when I get home later.

having a broken toenail is concerning here, since it can cause a bleed, and then become infected... Not sure what to treat with, yes pictures would help though. Do you have a drake in your flock?
This will bump the thread up, hopefully someone else replies soon.

The nail 8s starting to grow back as well

That does look painful. There doesn't seem to be an obvious bumble. Is it dirt that is discoloring the foot? It would be good to see a photo of the foot freshly washed. Maybe some infection got in via the missing nail? It would be good to consult a vet if possible. Doesn't seem like a topical is going to help at this point. I hope others can weigh in @casportpony

I'd soak in warm Epsom salt water that is good for swelling. Have you rubbed your finger over the areas to see if you can feel anything sticking out like a sticker or thorn?
Once she's been soaked post another picture.
