Peking Duck Won't Eat

Thank you everyone I am feeling better about what to do now.
@casportpony thank you for the links they are very informative. I will be picking up all the tube feeding stuff tomorrow.
You're welcome! I am available by phone to help too.

She is back in the cage with a bowl of probiotic and sugar water at neck height. Praying she will drink at least a quarter of it. The bowl has markings so I can see from a distance how much she has taken.
Good idea. Can you also add one with plain, fresh water just in case she doesn't like the sugar and probiotics?

If she will drink and then eat enough to perk back up I hoping to see if she has a neck injury from the drake.
:fl

If needed I will bribe my vet tech cousin to come and tube Aster. I never ask my cousin for help because everyone else just expects her to fix their animals for free.
That would be great. You could also talk to her about giving subcutaneous fluids.

I agree. Sorry I’m a mess right now my WiFi isn’t loading things very well at all! I can’t see most of your post for a long time. Please forgive me and I recommend looking at the other links castportpony posted until I can get my WiFi working better. Ugh so frustrating:(
Once again sorry. And good luck with ur duck. I’ll post again once my WiFi is doing better.

That is an old thread, lol, and since then I have been honing my supportive care and tubing skills. Thanks for posting that, cause I think I will re-read the entire thread and update some of my posts where appropriate.

Aster drank almost two cups of water yesterday and I pretty sure she nibbled at her food. As I was changing the water this morning she escaped her cage, ugh. However it may have proven a good thing.
As soon as she was out her neck fully extended and happy waddling around the drake attacked her dragging by the neck across the yard before I could separate them. She ran to the safety of our female Rouen and a few minutes later tried to get in the pool but was again attacked. The drake then turned on the rouen so he is now in jail and quite possibly to headed for death row.

I am not going to try and catch Aster today, she is scared and snuggled up with the other girls. I am going to assume she has been bullied before and that may be the cause of all her problems right now.
So fingers crossed that the longer the drake is locked up the safer she will feel and she will return to her happy sweet self. I won't rest easy until I see her eat a good meal and chase bugs again.

Aster is still not good. We are trying to clear up a sinus infection and it feels like cervical vertebrae 3-5 are misaligned, I could be wrong I'm still new to duck anatomy. We were able to help her put her bill in deep water without extending her neck and she tried to clear her nose herself so that made us happy.

We moved her indoors where it's cooler and quieter. Hopefully we can get her pain under control and get her eating a full meal. Poor thing is miserable it breaks our hearts.

How's her weight doing?
She is still two pounds so she isn't loosing but not gaining. She is brighter in the morning but by the evening she is pitiful. Have a sinus infection clearly makes it hard to eat like a healthy duck so hopefully some puréed greens will be easier. Of course she hates oatmeal and the bird feed you recommended, she's such a diva LOL.
