Hello! I am new to all this and have a question about hatching peking ducks. We are at day 24 and we hear peeping in some of the eggs--how long will it take for them to hatch? Also, some of the eggs have a gray splotch on them--turned from white to this big grey blob color--are the dead or dying? This is very stressfull--I hate to think I killed them--I am doing this in my basement so my daugthers can see the wonders of nature--I got the eggs from my sisters peking ducks--there were 38 and after candling we had 23 fertilized eggs.
Thank you for any help!

If the eggs are peeping it should only be 24 hours or less before they pip the shell, then up to another 48 hours before they hatch. For the other part of your question, I don't remember, but it seems like the ones I had like that had died.

nope I think they have those spotches because they are ready to pop out. I had some like that before.
