Pekins

    At what age would my Pekin hens start laying and Pekin drakes start mating?

    Well, my lead female started laying at about four and half months. I am still waiting on my lower ranking females to start up their egg making machines. But, as young as four months, but 6 months is a more typical time frame.

    My drake is about 5 months old and already fertilizing eggs for us. However, yet again, closer to 6-7 months is more a typical expectation. Each duck is different, so it is hard to say by a certain age they all should be, some ducks just take a little longer, or work a little quicker.
