I just switched my girls from starter feed to the pellets and they are not eating it very well so I am wondering if I should switch them back to the other stuff? I used to have to fill their food bucket every 2-3 days and now I only have to fill it about once a week. Also I had a friend tell me that the pellets are not good for chickens? Honestly I should have done more research on this but I just bought a bag at the feed store without putting much thought into it. Now I'm feeling like I need to find a good quality feed and make sure my girls are getting what they need from their food. Do any of you have a good brand of feed that you reccomend for hens?

When changing feeds it is generally a good idea to mix increasing % of he new feed with the old feed until you reach 100% new feed. You still might try mixing a bit of their old feed with the new.

When I switched my girls from starter crumbles to layer pellets, they turned their noses up to it for a bit as well (eating but not as much as before), but I figured they'd eat it if they got hungry enough and sure enough they're now eating it with no problems. I would just give them time to adjust and soon they'll realize there are no other options (unless, of course, they're showing signs of malnutrition or are otherwise not healthy). Took mine a couple weeks of adjustment period.
