I need to get pellet feed that is on the longer side for my scissor-beak hen. She used to eat wet food, but seemed to be getting tired of it and recently discovered she could get the longer feed down. I guess the bag I got was a fluke because bag #2 of that brand wasn't as long of pellets. Are there some brands that make longer pellets? Daisy would be very thankful for any help on this and so would I.

Kalmbach's Henhouse Reserve has thin pellets in it, but then it's got all those dried vegetables and grains in there that I'm not sure she could peck.

Have you tried wetting crumbles, as in layer crumbles or all flock? Maybe just changing to something else softened she'd like it again.

I looked at about a dozen brands and all the pellets look the same. Maybe someone uses something you're looking for though.

Thanks. I will admit that I haven't spent a lot of time trying to wet different brands. I was excited to see there were pellets she could eat. I think she was too. She may like it if I wet a different brand.
