Pellets or Crumbles?

Hi everyone, I got my first flock of 6 hens just over 2 weeks ago and they are settling in just fine. I just wanted to get an idea of what other keepers are feeding their hens. Presently I'm using crumbles, any preferences out there? thanks for your time.

I prefer crumbles especially if your girls are locked up in a pen. The crumbles keep the hens busier than pellets would, prevents the girls getting bored!

Crumbles are to best for me too. I tried mash; it caused my flock to sneeze and wheeze. Then I switched to pellets and all they did was spill it. Now they're on crumbles and everything's great!

My chooks are around 12 weeks, I have a large run for them so they have room to rummage, and they also get out to free range for about 3 hours a day.

I do crumbles, too, and don't have experience with anything else. Perhaps my only complaint is that they "scratch" it out of the feeder (PVC-pipe constructed feeder) and just spread it all over the run floor!
