I bought layer pellets by accident, do I have to give grit with it? they usually eat crumbles.

Mine hate pellets.

Sometimes if I wet them they will eat them.

I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago, accidentally bought pellets instead of crumbles. They wouldn't touch them at first, but now they eat them just fine.

Don't know about grit, but I haven't added any. Then again my girls are outside 24/7 and are always pecking away at the ground so they probably get all the grit they need that way.

If they are not outside where they have access to their own "grit" in the form of rocks and pebbles, they need grit regardless of whether you are feeding crumbles or pellets.
Give the pellets a try. Once they get used to them they eat them just fine and there's less waste.
I never had to worry about mine getting used to the pellets. While they were still eating grower crumbles they were also stealing plenty of the goat's pellet feed.
