Pelvic Check Says, "Not Yet"

I am trying to not get impatient about eggs. The ladies were probably hatched June 10th and 24 so they're certainly not overdue, especially with the days shortening.

One of the Blue Australorps, whose combs and wattles are beautifully red, flew over the fence today. Her "punishment" for being a bad girl was that once I caught her I carried her around for a while and petted her. During this time I did a pelvic check.

2 weeks ago I could just get one finger in. Today it was a finger and a half.

Progress, but not likely to lay just yet.

I just checked my girls this evening too. Couple week ago only one finger. Now I’m at 1.5 as well. Sigh. So we wait. At least we have each other for moral support!

@MarkJr & @davidfchickens it takes some practice (at least I found it did!) but you’ll get it. I wasn’t even sure I was checking correctly until I went from 1 finger to 1 1/2. My girls don’t seem to mind being checked either.
