Who else has pencilled turkeys? What colors? I'd love to see pics!! This year's batch is looking really good! Got some beauties!

Pretty birds, I had some like Ive never had before hatch this year. Theyre mutts but they sure did turn out pretty momma was a eastern and daddy was a white holland.

According to Porter's Turkey Color Calculator, such a cross would make Bronze Semi-Color poults but since recessive white can hide all recessive and dominant colors there is really no way to accurately predict what the results may be without DNA testing or selective breeding.

I think you are going to have to wait until it gets its mature feathers.

That came out of an eastern and white holland? Going to be really hard to determine a genotype with white since it covers everything else. May need to wait a couple months for it to feather out.

One thing that can help you figure out what is going on is to check the White tom's eye color. White turkeys can have either brown eyes or blue eyes. The brown eyed ones are bronze based such as bb, bb1 or b1b1 while blue eyed ones are black based such as BB.
