Penguin Chick?

Discussion in 'What Breed Or Gender is This?' started by ChickensInMyYard, Feb 7, 2012.

  1. This little chick in the my picture is a black orpington. I like the penguin look of this little guy and have been told that he'll eventually loose the white. Is this a good trait? And where does the white come from? I've never seen this before. So cute though!

thats normal its just the baby fuzz, ive noticed that most yellow chicks are actually some for of red, so yea the white will go away. a black orp is just that solid black (probley will have an irradecent green sheen in the sun). the chick fuzz changes just like some kids hair. a blonde baby can lose the blonde and be brown instead. it's a chick think lol

They may even get some white flight feathers as a chick but should lose those after the first molt.
