Penguins a momma pictures!!!

Our hen Penguin’s a mommy today!!! July forth!

Around 3, or 4 in the morning one of the nine eggs hatched.
The little chick is so beautiful. She’s brown, with chipmunk stripes
I am so happy; this is our first broody hen to hatch.

It was hard for me to get the picture of her, but here are a few.

Congrats. Boodies can be wonderful and not so wonderful. We had 2 broodies that shared a nest their eggs hatched yesterday but they killed 2 of them so the remaining 3 are in the brooder. My first broody an Australorp was a fantastic mom. By the way I have a barred rock named Penguin, but sadly will never brood a clutch of chicks for me.....but has fathered quite a few

well, the mothers a Barred Rock, but she is not the real mother of the eggs, our white hen Golden is.
Penguin went broody on Goldens eggs. so there , adopted eggs.

Golden is a mutt chicken, and so is daddy Hope.
