About 3 weeks ago a fox attacked one of my hens, I didn’t realize until today that he actually got deeper than the feathers. There’s a huge open infected wound I found tonight. I cleaned it up with peroxide and water and rubbed some Neosporin triple antibiotic on there for tonight. I have some Penicillin in the fridge. Should I start injections with her tomorrow? If so how much for a 6-8lbs hen. I know how to do injections just don’t know the dosage or if it’s necessary. Thanks!

Do you have a picture of the wound?
Read the linked post for dosage:

If available you should consider using a different antibiotic since Penicillin has lost its effectiveness among many types of bacteria.
Enrofloxacin, which can be obtained online in the US is a good choice.
https://allbirdproducts.com/product...aytril used for,Infections and many many more.
Dosage being 0.05ml orally per pound, twice a day, for five days.
If you lavage the wound anymore, you should do so with saline or chlorhexidine. Hydrogen peroxide should not be used on wounds.
