OMG. I went to bed at 11pm and has been up since before 4:30am. I am going to be so tired in 2 hours and I have a super busy day today... Who has the coffee on?

BTW - I usually don't get up until 9-10am.

Coffee here!! 9 or 10!!? Either you are a heavy sleeper or have quiet roos. :/

Update: yesterday, Blarney: 3, Goats: 0!!! All day, although i wasn't around for most of it. Let's see if that works again today when I'm out and about in the yard all day!

Wish I'd been up at 4:30am, then I'd have made it to the swap today. Slept right through my alarm at 3am.

I can't hear my roos from my room unless the window's open. I pity my son. He's right beside them. No wonder he doesn't sleep in.
As for my sleep... I just love to sleep. My dreams are far, far better than my real life. Even the nightmares are better. At least there is something going on. I usually don't go to bed until 1-2am, too.

Oh no! I know you were really hoping to sell your chicks! I wish I would have stayed asleep. I brought the boat home last night and it's parked in the driveway - to close to the road for my comfort - and I heard a 4 wheeler drive by really slow and then shut off. Then I heard the geese go nuts for a few seconds and then nothing. That was all. I was up.

Now he gets to pull money out of his butt for extra feed for another week. I actually must have either sold more than I thought I have or am keeping more than I thought. There are only 100 birds on the sale list now & I thought it shoulg be at least 150.

Apparently my count was a bit off because I know I haven't lost any. I'm thinking I lost count on chicks sold & a few extras managed to get tagged as keepers.

OOPS! Just found part of my mis-count. Forgot my polish babies in the little brooder in the basement that we're keeping & didn't count the 19 broilers & 2 poults or the 10 little babies in the upstairs brooder. Found my missing 50 chicks.

welcome to my world, yes coffee helps,,,,,this is normal sleep pattern for me,,,,to many years of working swing shifts.

I was thinking the same thing....sneaky little critters.
Quote: The women go opposite. Start out skinny, get fat with a brood of chicks following, then have a bad molt going & have half grown chicks following.
I must be weird, didn't get fat till that dreadful meno.....thing,,,,,,now i appear to be 5 months prego (no not possible) all the time, and it won't go nowhere no matter what
yep lucky if I weighed a hundred pounds most of my life,,,,then 2 years ago that all changed, took awhile to figure out why
and my fully grown children still follow, then their children follow...

So, my God daughters stopped by last night to see my daughter for her B-day. 1st time they saw my birds. Their mom told me that the youngest is thinking about raising chickens for FFA. She has a year or 2 before she has to do the official project, but they were thinking about getting started this summer so they are not jumping into it when they need to do the project. Their plan is to have 2 to 4 chickens in a chicken tractor. I am going to get them to get on BYC so they can ask their questions instead of going through me. Any suggestions for me to help them get started?
