Yes I am in the dreaming and planning phase. I have read quite alot on this site. People sure have alot of experience and recommendations.............i dont know if I will ever start there is always another thing to consider.

Some of my big concerns are:
I dont really have good carpentry skills or tools...........

Like how do I cut wood at an angle?
I can drill holes and put in screws, nails, use screwdrivers and a hammer , staple gun etc.
I am good at painting etc......

How will I raise my dresser coop and still have it be sturdy etc............

and recently in a post re: building of coops someone mentioned the floor should have drainage...........hmm how much?
The dresser has a wood floor...........I could drill some holes but I want it to be strong........

is this for hosing out????

so many questions!

but I am having fun thinking about this....................its like a really big craft project!

Hi LYU:

Sent you a pm, you can stop by and see my setup...for my two cents...I'd figure out what and how many chicks you envision getting...then check out pre-made coops to get an idea of how big and how it should be configured....Sally has a link in her signature with instructions for building a pallet coop....also in coop section, there are many listed with the details on how to...good luck its a fun process....

Hope everyone (that could make it) had fun at the picnic. Now we need to plan the Knoebels one, and the BYC gun class...hehehe

After a VERY long day, I'm going to have some "grown up" drinks, soak my feet and read some Allan Quatermain after a quick update.

For anyone following my little family soap opera: met my future nephew today and he and Gavin hit it off wonderfully. Also met the future BIL's family and they are very nice. And yes given that I am saying "future" he did ask my sister to marry him. At least they moved the date back 1.5 months

Ginger is slightly worse on one hand, she is limping on both left legs now, but on the other hand she is eating the fermented dog food and drinking more. Soonest I could get her in to the vet is Monday, which will be another long day as Gavin has a 4H meeting.

Marion (the BCM) is doing so much better after her course of antibiotics, and the tetra's swelling went down on it's own. Marion's eye is wide open, vision appears to be normal again, and the swelling and pus are gone.

Found out I can not ride the Merry Mixer anymore (at least not so long after taking my fibro and vertigo meds), I was doing great just focusing on one spot on the seat. That is until Gavin bumped me in the ribs and I closed my eyes due to the pain...needless to say I took some pills for my vertigo, and headed for the restrooms to be on the safe side, once I could walk straight. Poor kiddo felt so bad, and then I felt even worse. I know he doesn't try to hurt me and he forgets how little it takes to cause me pain...UGH feeling like a crappy Mom thanks to this medical crap going on with me.

I think that's all the updates I have, too tired to worry about it if there were others.
I know all about the fibro.

Some days you can barely walk, let alone climb on carnival rides. Other days it isn't so bad, but you still have to watch what all you do or you pay for it later. Don't feel bad about it Hon. It's just part of life with firbo. You do what you can & make adjustments to accomplish the difficult stuff. The kiddos get used to it & come to understand what you can & can't do.

Mornin Wing!

Hey guys! This is our newest foster dog, Banana! He is a lab/pointer(?) mix and about 7-8 months old. He is up to date with all his vet stuff, including being already neutered. Banana is a super sweet boy and we are looking to place him with a super sweet family. Great with other dogs and kids. He was just hours away from being put down in a shelter in Georgia when we rescued (saved) him. PM me and I will get right back to you!
