Nope. but welcome from PA!Any one raising chickens here from Texas?
I want! I want! I want! (I can't have, I can't have, I can't have...waaahhhh!)
Glad you found your predator, sorry there seem to be so many of them. This is in a smaller run area,,,this is the meat bird side,,,,,,,,, umm chiques,,,,,,that's a good idea but I will wait till after the FIL signs all the papers since hubby will probly hang himself also.. Fishing line just might work, but I prefer a more permanent solution...Not sure what is going on lately, but as i was sitting on my bucket this morning waiting for a birdie to show up,,,I watched a fox walk thru the field (before anyone say's it, it was to far away) I have never seen a fox on the property, I know they are there, I just never seen them..... not liking all these predators suddenly showing up,,,must stop the construction in the area, they are what i blame for the critter movement.

You'll do fine.I am not a fan of cats but that is sad - is there an emergency type vet you could call?? Well this week is going to be a busy one for me. Will have to clean the house from top to bottom as hubby has finally found a helper to work with him (an old friend from Oklahoma) - he tried advertising this position on craigslist and reddit but everyone that replied to them had nothing but negative things to say "oh that is a lot of hours to work, the allowance per day isn't much" but the way I look at is it, if you can get a pay cheque at the end of 2 weeks that is $2K then why would people complain, most of the work is driving anyways - the rest is just being on point making sure you can find issues that could potentially kill someone ...... ugh wow that turned into a rant - sorryAnyways, his friend has to do the drug test this week and will probably be flown up here by hubbys company on the 4th (he doesn't do drugs so he'll pass it) and he will be staying with us! I don't mind that fact, it will be just adjusting to having someone else in the house etc, bigger meals to cook when they are home and aren't working. Looks like I am going to have to move the chicks into the basement - which I didn't want to do as the door to the spare room has a glass panel and i could peek on them any time I wanted
but they will be fine down there, it is all cemented in and I turned on the dehumidifyer today, since all the rain has made it a bit icky down there with a few very small leaks happening. So now I am going to have to replan the 4th party/BBQ and redo the house lol - god help me. I hope I can get it all under control by the 4th LOL Wish me luck I am going to need it!
All of the above. Eventually one of them will figure it out...and then the rest will as well. Until the wind blows the door shut, and they decide to lay under a bush...I have a silly question. My girls free range all day and go to the coop at night. They haven't started laying yet. are they smart enough to go back to the coop into the nesting boxes to lay when they have to or willthey lay them anywhere throughout the yard? I have been looking around to see if they have been laying in the yard places that they frequent but haven't seen anything yet. I don't want to lose eggs because they are out from 6:30 a.m. until 830 at night.
Yes, they're beautiful.GORGEOUS!!! LOVE THE IDEA!!!!
They'll be fine! They going to Citta?OK, I KNOW THIS ISN'T ABOUT CHICKENS, BUT............................could you guys just say some prayers? My twin boys left this morning FOR A WEEK at Scout Camp in NJ. I know they will be fine, I just miss them terribly already. Thanks.Gonna go be mopey a bit............![]()

Tweetr1979, that's a smart man! Having trouble hunting down local mills to push the darn feed costs down a bit, the turkeys are PIGS!
Quote: You sure can. I actually have my mill add it into my grain mix that I have them make for me.
