THANKS! I got my second today........wow two in a row.......................then later today I heard a big commotion and I ran out and saw a hawk flying away.

the girls were all in the coop.............and they were not coming out for some time!

I just have thin netting covering the run and it was covered upon inspection....................do you all think that is sufficient? I put on the rain tarp.................but I thinking a hungry hawk could get thru these both.

Lisa, don't over-think it too much. If its not really old or something, odds are its fine. I wormed mine with Wazine 17 and supposedly it says you can never eat their eggs again someone told me. So, being the stupid person I am, I immediately and intentionally started eating them to test the theory. Want to know what the gruesome affect of eating those eggs were? Nothing. Nothing happened. I didn't feel sick at all and I ate them for days in a row. If a hen is sick, it more than likely wont be laying eggs anyway. That's not 100% or anything but I would bet that is usually the case. Eat the egg and enjoy it!

I am also wondering about Silkie----------------did she buy goats and then they got lose? is there chasing and searching going on...............or was no purchase possible and a big trip was / is potentiall not working out well.

Did her goats get loose or the seller backed out? I just looked on Pocono craigslist and theres a guy in greentown that's supposed to have some goats. Thats about 45 mins away from stroudsburgh. There are a few ads in North NJ for goats

Two in a row!!!,,,,I read this in yachting....folks would take eggs on board...coat them in vasiline and turn them once a day and the eggs would be good for 90 days....without refrigeration in the tropics.....any netting is more than enough....no rapture is going to challenge...lastly talked to Silkie....her trip turned into a goat rodeo....chasing critters...too many critters to few humans....

My dad told me that if I got straight A's all this year (which won't be hard, I only got two B's last year because I got lazy and stopped caring), He'll build me my DREAM coop (the one we have now was quickly built and not well planned). After he builds me my dream coop, I can make the one I have now into a banty coop and he'll build a big run just for them so they can be safe. I've always wanted banties but we have TONS of HUGEEEE hawks around here, and banties are even easier to get snatched up. Or maybe I can make that a serama coop. I haven't decided yet. Decisions, decisions.

Awesome... If you want D'uccle next year i will hook you up with a batch of mille fleur, and blue mille fleur for free. They would be chicks and you would have to meet me again shortly after they hatch. I am so excited for you. so keep me posted.
