Annie:

Looked at the pics of your coop....putting an angle to the roof of your nest box is real easy to do....all you need is a sawall or a jigsaw....and 10 mins of cutting/attaching,,,,,

Looks like we may be moving to PA soon. We are looking at a couple houses in the Ford City/Kittanning area this weekend. If anyone knows of anything in the western half of the state with at least 3 bedrooms, an acre or more of land and $600 or less per month either for rent or land contract please PM me with details. We really want a land contract place but need it to be livable as is. The 1 we checked so far is missing plumbing & wiring that would have to be fixed before we can move.

I live inbetween Apollo and Greensburg, and it's a GREAT place to live if you want to have a few-acre farm. I highly recommend moving here. It's only about 30 minutes from where you're looking now.

Argh ticks are horrible. I keep pulling ticks off of my cat, even with the stupid drops on her. My son just pulled a tick off of my neck. I think I need more guineas!

This thread is AWESOME!!!!! It's nice to see so many like minded folks in my neck of the woods.

I'm new to the site but I started framing out my coop last weekend and plan to have everything ready for February (which is when Pckering Valley Feed should have new chicks in).
Welcome from the New Castle area!

We found my favorite chicken pee wee the little serama dead in the coop today :( I'm heart broken. I have no idea what happened.

I promise I mean no offense at all when I say this, but why would you take her to the emergency room? Why not just remove it, keep the tick in a bag and watch the bite?
Because I was told they might put her on an antibiotic because it was a deer tick. And couple years ago, she had one on her head and we tried to remove it and didn't get the head out and had to take her to e.r. anyways! No offense taken.
