Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Thanks! Yes, it's mine, and yes, TSO. There is a second song, too.
The particulars: 31 LED light strings, two 16 channel controllers, a lot of extension cords, all run by am Ethernet cable to a computer. Took a few years to pull it all together. The music is broadcast through a short range FM transmitter so it doesn't bother the neighbors.

DH just explained what the whole FM transmitter thing means...so only if you tune in...so cool ray!! well done!

LittleMissPurdy your pommie is absolutely adorable!  <3

Speaking of watery jelly, we did a batch of green tomato jelly that refused to set up this year too.  Re did it like three times.  Finally just took it all and poured it over the garden along with the rest of the scraps.  The chickens loved it.  ^_^

Soooo.... who around here keeps Cream Legbars?  'da Hubby himself has actually mentioned expanding the run and coop a couple of times lately.  And if we do in the spring I definitely would love to think about getting a couple of those, like two maybe and a Black Copper Marans hen or two as well.

So, if anybody has them, what are they like?  Do you ever sell any *hint hint* And stuff like that.

All I have is a roo, but mixed with my rainbow of hens we sure get some pretty babies.

I can imagine. The Cream Legbars themselves are so pretty. Heck, anything with Barred Rock in it's lineage seems to be very pretty like that. If I did find a couple somewhere I'd definitely want a rooster so I could hopefully in the future get more Cream Legbars from them. But I'd also love to cross that rooster to my EE's, Orpingtons, Speckled Sussex, Welsummer, and White Leghorn. Just for fun and to keep because I love bright crazy colored "original" chickens. I'd never try to muddy up the gene pool of somebody's potential breeding stock on purpose though. Strictly to keep for my own entertainment.

Sorry!, I don't measure, just about a 1/4 dropper full a few times/day.

Silkiesensation, I hear ya on the treacherous hills, our goats are at the highest point on the property, I actually used a sled to come down the hill tonight after tying down tarps.
I know i am probably a pain how many days did it take for you to see some improvement in her?

I have 16 assorted hens (no 2 the same) covered by a super blue (leghorn/ameraucana), an olive egger (cuckoo marans/ameraucana) & the cream legbar boy. I get a gorgeous rainbow in both eggs & chicks & it gets even more diverse with each generation hatched.

man is it cold out there...have had to de-ice the water 3 x's already...all but two of the birds are up in the coop...the other two are down under the nest boxes...they are just standing there staring at each other...weird animals...

The only thing I like about my current set up (chain link covered in tarps & plastic thrown up in a hurry during the move) is that the feed & water are inside with the animals since thete is no run right now. Their body heat keeps the air 20-30 degrees warmer than outside & keeps the water from freezing solid. I've seen it get slushy & seen a thin layer of ice on top but nothing the birds can't break right through.

Yeah mine are a bunch of sticks in the mud today too. I refilled their water just a little bit ago. They were all down in the run excavating the biggest crater I've ever seen. So I thought they might like to come out and run around a bit. You know, get some fresh air, stretch their legs. Nope. I opened the run door an hour ago and threw some more food in their bowl. Just dry stuff. Then all came over, picked through the food, got a drink and peeked out the door. So I went back inside, thinking I"d look out in a little bit and see them happily stolling around the yard.
Nope, there's my goofy EE rooster sitting in his favorite spot on the raised doorsill and everybody else has gone back to digging that crater. My birds are brats! And I'ma have to go out there once it gets a little warmer and rake the sand and dirt and all back up to the top of the run again and fill in that hole. Not now though. It's tooooo darn cold!
All I'm doing today is sitting here with my cup of coffee and playing in Farmville. Outside can stay there till Springtime!
